KIDS BRAZILIAN JIU-JITSU

LET'S WORK TOGETHER!

PARENTS, DID YOU KNOW?

  • Canada has the 9th highest rate of bullying in the 13-years-olds category on a scale of 35 countries.

  • At least 1 in 3 adolescent students in Canada have reported being bullied recently.

  • Among adult Canadians, 38% of males and 30% of females reported having experienced occasional or frequent bullying during their school years.

  • 47% of Canadian parents report having a child victim of bullying.

  • The most common form of cyber-bullying involved receiving threatening or aggressive e-mails or instant messages, reported by 73% of victims.

Learning how and when to manage bullying is key. We work with children teaching skills that deliver great results at home, in school and in the community. Martial arts in general are great to build confidence and self-control, but Brazilian Jiu-Jitu adds an important component to it, the ability to control your opponent without hurting them, and this is a huge plus.

Our Octa BJJ programs are designed to equip your children with the skills needed to navigate real-life situations and prevent bulling. Also, kids with great confidence do not engage in bullying other kids.

OUR PROGRAMS

LEAVE THE GUESSWORK BEHIND

"SAFETY-FIRST" TRAINING ENVIRONMENT

We take it very seriously and all our instructors are CPR, Emergency and Standard First Aid certified. We also run background checks for all our staff. Our mats are cleaned daily and our entire training room is covered with padding.

COMPETING WILL ALWAYS BE OPTIONAL

Competition is an excellent learning tool, but it's important to know if and when your child is ready. We want our students to be excited about competing and have a fun learning experience, so once they're old enough and have had enough training, there is no pressure to compete or to perform well if they do.

50,000+ canadian children are reported missing each year

At Octa BJJ, we want to keep our kids safe. We strongly believe in supporting our children and their families parents with skills that will create situational awareness to safe self defense.

30% of canadian children (5-17) are overweight or obese

OUR SCHEDULE

WE CAN HELP YOUR CHILDREN WITH IN OUR BRAZILIAN JIU-JITSU PROGRAMS

There is a reason Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu has become one of the fastest growing sport and fitness activity in the world. It's because Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu is not only an effective self-defense system, but also a safe and fun ground-based martial art.

Developed in Brazil, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu schools are opening up at a pretty quick rate around the world, but not all schools are born the same. At OCTA BJJ, the classes are designed to teach your child self-defense without removing the fun from the process.

But we are NOT a day care or a gym. Our role is to work together with families to raise STRONG KIDS.

Kids with confidence and discipline are not only capable of protecting themselves, they also quickly become role models for their families and friends. They become good listeners, hard workes, respectful citizens and, most importantly, learn how to deal with failure.

And how do we do it?

We introduce Brazilian Jiu-jitsu to your kids based on our 8 core values (the number is not a coincidence): Honor, Loyalty, Discipline, Justice, Self-control, Honesty, Courage and Benevolence. At OCTA BJJ, the kids learn Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu techniques and life skills. And we are committed to that.

These (life) skills learned at Octa BJJ will help create a confident and responsible child who will excel in school and in life.
